  • It's anything but "best practice" to put JS in the <head> tag. There's a handful of usage scenarios where it might be appropriate, but by and large the "best practice" is before </body>. Commented Nov 23, 2011 at 21:47

    @Chris Edited that part out of my answer. All i meant was that there are different scenarios of usage of when to put in <head> and when to put in </body> And what I meant to say at the end was not to discount putting it in the head rather than "best practice" which was a slip on my part.
