Statement on the Death of Filipino National in Haifa Missile Attack
- Details
6 APRIL 2026 - The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv is deeply saddened by the death of a Filipina national in a missile attack on a residence in Haifa on the evening of 5 April. The attack also claimed the lives of her Israeli husband and elderly parents-in-law. She is the second Filipina to perish in this current conflict, and the third since the war began with Iran in June last year. Ambassador Aileen Mendiola has informed the family and conveyed her deepest condolences. The Embassy is coordinating arrangements to bring her remains home as soon as possible, despite the current travel situation in the region. The family requests privacy at this time to allow them to grieve in peace. We join the Filipino community in praying for her eternal rest, and for strength for those she left behind. In this season of Easter and Pesach, we also pray that the message of hope and renewal brings consolation to the grieving families, and that peace may soon return to the Holy Land and the entire region.
