- It's a little disturbing that the Blu Ray drive/disc has reached the end of its life, since I unpacked both from Amazon brand new yesterday. It was also the SHA1s from the files on the BD that actually do validate, as opposed to when the files are on my desktop. I will check my hard disks, though, and continue backing everything up. Thanks for your help.NoodleCollie– NoodleCollie2020-07-19 17:56:08 +00:00Commented Jul 19, 2020 at 17:56
- @x6herbius Happy that we got somewhere and didn't reset your BIOS in the meantime :) If there is something missing, just comment, and once I get up in the morning, I'll fill in the gaps. Cheers and good luck!Vlastimil Burián– Vlastimil Burián2020-07-19 18:00:52 +00:00Commented Jul 19, 2020 at 18:00
- "You could in theory have bad RAM, but that is not much probable." Funnily enough, for the last year or so I'd been getting random crashes on my machine (namely Firefox and GCC, which should be rock solid). Turns out my ram was bad after all. This could have had something to do with it!NoodleCollie– NoodleCollie2023-02-16 08:28:34 +00:00Commented Feb 16, 2023 at 8:28

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. shell-script), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
