- 1Apple does something similar with some of their horizontal interfaces, but they also enlarge the items closer to the middle and, at least in older versions of software (iTunes, etc.) the items would be tiled such that the ones in the middle would show as "closer" in terms of z-index. Not sure if they have any trademarks/patents/whatever that would prevent you from using that look yourself (personally, I find the concept of patenting a stylistic choice for displaying information to be ludicrous, but there was that whole thing with their touchscreen gesture patents a while back, so).JAB– JAB2016-02-19 14:23:52 +00:00Commented Feb 19, 2016 at 14:23
- I thoroughly agree with the fade, but I don't know if the "ring" setup is a good idea - It leaves the user unclear on which way they want to scroll to select the person or people they want.recognizer– recognizer2016-02-19 16:57:46 +00:00Commented Feb 19, 2016 at 16:57
- 1To make sure users understand, I'd show a horizontal scrollbar as wellZach Saucier– Zach Saucier2016-02-19 19:06:06 +00:00Commented Feb 19, 2016 at 19:06

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. website-design), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
