Women Who Code
Women Who Code is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing women in technology in technology Careers. We believe that innovation thrives when diverse perspectives shape the future — and we are committed to closing the gender gap in tech by equipping women with the skills, community, and opportunities they need to lead.
Our work focuses on accelerating women technologists from experienced contributors and managers into decision-makers, executives, founders, and board leaders — ensuring women are not only participating in tech, but shaping its direction.
Founded in 2011 by engineers, Women Who Code grew into a vibrant global community of nearly half a million technologists across 145 countries. The organization delivered more than 20,000 community-led technical trainings, awarded $3.5 million in scholarships, and contributed over one million volunteer hours in service to the tech ecosystem. Through its global network, members accessed more than 14,000 career opportunities while developing the leadership capabilities needed to advance and thrive.
In April 2024, Women Who Code closed due to funding challenges. However, its impact and mission continue. TechFutures is proud to welcome Women Who Code into its family of brands, carrying forward the legacy of its pioneering founders. Together, we are committed to building on this foundation and continuing to support and elevate women in technology worldwide.
