    Main.com works

    main.com/sub works

added a cnane on the sub to point to the main. It look like the web server does not see it as a website or hosts

I’ve also tried a domain mapping plugin an have added the config additions to we-config an htaccess from multipress setup. ANY suggesstions? Thank you!

  • It seems you’ve seen enough generic advice that hasn’t helped you that much.

If you need specific advice to solve your specific problem, please provide specific information: please provide the main domain and one secondary domain so we can take a look and assist you.

    Torquedmedia. I typed them wrong.

Sorry for the delayed response: life got in the way 😀

I don’t know how your WHM/cPanel server is set up… but, for a test, I just deployed a WHM/cPanel instance, configured a domain with WordPress, and CNAME’d another domain to the first domain that’s already configured on the server. This second domain now loads the WordPress site that was set up with the first domain, but, of course, any links still use the first domain.

In your case, it seems there’s some restriction on the server (perfectly understandable if you’re in a shared environment), and you may have to add the second domain as an ALIAS domain on top of the primary domain in cPanel (if your host permits this on your account). You may have to change the CNAME record to A (to the IP address of the server) for this to work, again, subject to server configuration and restrictions.
