    Hi,

After updating to version 7.8 my transients expire instantly, causing the back-end to be extremely slow. On each page load WordPress and all plugins are calling their respective API’s to check for updates or licensing. Page load time increased from 1.5 seconds to about 12-15 seconds. With Litespeed disabled, the issue is resolved.

I’ve got Object Cache enabled, which always worked fine, until now. Current status shows:

    Memcached Extension: Disabled
    Redis Extension: Enabled
    Connection Test: Failed Learn More

I’ve disabled Object Cache for now (gives normal speed), but prefer to have it enabled again. My server supports Redis cache and I’ve checked the Redis connection settings with my host. What settings do I need to change to make Object Cache work in combination with the expiring transients?

I’ve sent a status report just in case it helps. ID: LKSJSTDW

Thanks in advance! Appreciate the help.

    Kind regards,

    Mark

@markvdam from the details you sent I see that Connection test: failed
Please make sure you fix this.
In 7.8 we moved all transients to OC library, and having connection issue will not save transients.

The transient issue has been improved on master branch v7.8.0.1-rc1. Please give it a try via Beta Test from Toolbox.

    Hi @hailite ,

Thanks for providing the beta release. The transient issue seems resolved on my website. Page load times are back at approximately 1 second with OC enabled and all settings as usual.

I’ll keep using this version until the official release is available!

    Thanks again and kind regards,

    Hi @litetim

Thank you! The issue has indeed been resolved in this new version. Also, in the mean time my host has restored the Redis cache connection.

All is fine again! Thanks for the help!

    Regards,
