Dec 13, 2017 at 15:02 comment added Steve In terms of a simple analogy - the apparent "phases" of when star B rises and sets relative to star A would be similar to our own phases of the moon... except that unlike our moon, star B is always "full". Unless star B is MANY times brighter than star A, it will appear much dimmer from the planet, so as the dominant light of the night sky (when present) it will likely be thought of by the inhabitants in a similar way to our moon.
