Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2011Put these lights up 2 weeks ago and ran then for 6 hours a day. They only made it halfway to Christmas before they stopped working. The transformer packed it in. These lights are over priced junk.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2012Yes, they are expensive, but they are PERFECT!
They come with a remote control to turn on/off and change mode so you don't have to crawl under your tree
14 different modes, some are crazy, some are slow, so you have different options to choose from.
After power off or disconnection they remember the mode you left them, so you don't need to look for it each time.
Bulbs are big (1.5" or 2" maybe) so take this into consideration if you prefer small ones.
But since they are waterproof I guess they also work great on house external decoration and small bulbs won't do it out there.
Everyone complimented us about our Christmas tree, colors are vibrant and full and look really nice.
Really happy with my lights, maybe next year will buy another set for house decor ;)
- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2011We don't have a Costco near us, and the stores we do have (Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart etc...) only had the smaller strings.
So we purchased a 36 LED string from Lowes, and then ordered this 50 LED string here. One remote is supposed to work with any and all of the g-35 strings, unfortunately the 50 LED string I ordered from Amazon will not respond to the remote supplied or the one from the 36 LED string... yet it powers on to the alternating wave function (so I will be getting with customer service in the morning to discuss a possible controller replacement - but the function it happened to start with is one of the better ones and is good enough for this season so I am only mildly frustrated (more so if i consider the price over Costco)
sooo no real warning - but it may have been the reason you read my review :) my real title I guess would be "Very bright and vivid color"
BTW: To set strings with equal count lights to the same starting function you must plug them in one at a time, set it to the desired "starting" point and power them off (they will store that in non-volatile memory)... doing the same for each string then powering them all on to the same starting point, then toggling them all from any one of the remotes.
And as stated in other reviews they do not terminate with a power socket ... each string must start at a separate power source.
Also consider looking at the hacking community websites for mention of the GE G-35 bulbs - there are numerous warranty voiding projects for these - Arduino based ones mostly, but plenty of other options as well... who could resist 50 individually addressable RGB LED bulbs :)
A simple warranty voiding project would be to populate the missing button on the controller box to be able to change the functions since it is not responding to remote control.
also if you were reading the first part of my review and realized that you can mess with your neighbor's G-35 lights using your remote - remember the remote range is about 33 feet (10meters).
Have fun.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2020DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. If you want to use them as a solid color go buy them thats all they are good for. If you want a nice Christmas show these arent for you. They do not sync with another set and get out of wack after running for a shot amount of time.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2012I bought a set of these lights at a local Lowes then a second set on Amazon. The lights were bright and because of their size, they really made our house stand out on our street. Using the remote, you can set the lights in a number of patterns or just plain white on all the time. It would have been nice if you could have chosen the other colors also. After the first year, the first set had one light that quit working with the others, it was always not in the same setting as the others but they continued to work the second year. Then, after putting them up this year and running them several nights, the first set quit working. Some of the lights would light but they wouldn't work the way they were supposed to and some wouldn't work at all. After checking around for them and only finding them on Amazon at a price $30 + dollars than what I originally paid for them, I bought new lights that were inexpensive compared to these. Many of the online reviews said that people had similar problems like I had with them. I would not recommend these lights due to their quality and price.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2012I have bought these lights before and the stores run out when I want to add a string or two. They are amazing and make your house stand out at Christmas. They have like 9 different settings. The trick is getting all the strings on the same setting, because each string of lights can change when you use the remote control that comes with them. So when setting them up on your house keep that in mind. They seem to last and I have had no problems with them working each year.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2014No problems with the light strand. Looks and works great! Everyone I've shown it to really enjoys it. I love all the different settings you can have too.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2011The only reason I'm giving these lights two stars is because they are very beautiful, but I've only seen them working on other people's houses. The set I bought from Amazon didn't work at all. I'll be looking for some (less expensive!) sets for next Christmas. Buy them early and verify they work before the holidays, that's my new plan.
