Product Description

Mahoro has just 398 days left to live. A military android created by VESPER to combat the alien menace of the Saint, her operational lifecycle is winding down when, with just over a year to go, she is given the choice to retire from active service and do anything she wishes in her last days. Her unexpected choice, however, is to serve as maid and bodyguard to a very surprised teenage boy! But Suguru Misato isn't just any teenager. He's the son of Mahoro's former commander and is already in the crosshairs of the aliens! However, Mahoro isn't any ordinary combat android either. Using captured Saint technology, her creators may have given her something no android has ever had before: a soul. From the legendary Studio Gainax (NEON GENESIS EVANGELION) comes an amazing saga of life, love and combat! And the complete epic tale, including two new, never before released episodes, is collected here for the first time in MAHOROMATIC - THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION!

Simply a fun and funny story with a touching ending, this is a romance story set against the backdrop of young adolescence (junior high) and an invasion from space. One of those series you wish would keep going. Includes both of the OVAs that should be viewed in the following order:

    Mahoromatic: Summer Special
Released after the second season, this episode takes place during the second season and revolves around the issue of Suguru's ecchi no hon (dirty books). The Summer Special is the only special to be aired in the U.S.

    Mahoromatic —I'm Home (Tadaima Okaeri)
Takes place during the second season between episodes 2 and 3, on days 270–268 of Mahoro's life timer. Mahoro and Suguru, along with Suguru's classmates, are preparing for a Hiryu town festival, when Feldlance attacks in an attempt to capture Minawa.

Parental Advisory! Not for younger viewers as there are a lot of topless scenes and quite a bit of innuendo. For mature anime viewers.

If they didn't place fanservice in the series, I would've given this anime two thumbs up! Cuteness and lessons seem to be the highlight of the series I appreciate the most, even after all these years.

I can say I liked it and it comes from a long line of anime so it really is good. Also I remember this series because I saw it awhile back and can recommend it to anime fans living elseware.

I love this series and was really hooked into the story until the end. I would advise against this for children under 13 but its humor and jokes are always worth at least a chuckle.

Unlike most harem style anime, the male lead wasn't totally clueless. It's mostly lighthearted fun with a bit of drama thrown in.
A good ending, if not exactly the way I was expecting.

I watched this as well as the two OVA's over the years, and still have the complete collection of manga. While they follow each for a while, there is a divergence as well as a few changes they were both good. but now to the review.

In the future, aliens known as the SAINT are trying to destroy humanity, in defence the group known as Vesper creates the greatest weapon they have, the battle andriod Maharo. Now that an uneasy peace is upon them and Maharo is running out of time before her systems shut down, they give her a choice to either keep fighting or stand down and enjoy her remaining life. Meanwhile Suguru Misato is looking for a maid to help with his dirty house as his parents died while he was young and he has been on his own. On the way home from school, he sees a pretty young lady in a maids' outfit, and while he wishes his maid would look like her he expects a older lady. When he gets home he sees the same young lady who introduces herself as Maharo, she is to be the maid of the house, and that she is a battle android (which gets a few looks from Suguru). Soon though the rest of his friends and his teacher (who has big boobs, a unhealthy regard for the younger male students, and throughout the series makes fun of Maharo's small physique (in short they become friends)) meet her and the fun starts. Watch as Maharo fights her battles against the perverted teacher, the forces of SAINT and an corrupt group called Management (called the Keepers in the Manga), and the battle against dirty magazines (Ecchii is bad!!!!) as she tries to make her last days as enjoyable as possible and not fight against her own heart.

This was a great series overall, and while I prefer the ending in the manga better than the anime, the ending does reach the conclusion you hope for. And despite Maharo's catchphrase (up above), there are pleaty of Ecchi moments though nothing too adult so older children can enjoy this series. Enjoy another series from the vault.

I was not expecting this anime to be as great as it is. My wife and I love the characters and the story. I would recommend it to anyone!
