Create and Ship Custom Items in Shopify

As a Shopify merchant, you often receive requests for products beyond your regular catalogue, whether it’s a made-to-order item or something unique. These are considered custom items in Shopify.

Using the PH Multi Carrier Shipping Label app, you can add and ship custom items as seamlessly as regular catalogue products. Whether you’re handling one-off product requests or combining them with in-store products, the app streamlines the entire fulfilment process.

Custom Items in Shopify

Custom items are products not listed in your storefront or regular catalogue. These may include limited-run pieces or special requests from customers. Since these items aren’t pre-listed, you must manually add them when creating an order in Shopify.

Shopify custom orders typically fall into two categories based on the customer’s request:

  1. Custom Product Only Orders: These orders include only custom products.
For instance, if a customer messages you requesting a one-of-a-kind engraved bracelet that isn’t listed on your site, you’d manually create the order with that single item.
  2. Mixed Product Orders: These combine both standard catalogue products and one or more custom items.
For instance, a customer may purchase a regular pair of shoes and also request a customised version in the same order.

No matter the combination, the PH Multi Carrier Shipping Label app treats these custom items just like any standard product, and the fulfilment flow remains the same in Shopify.
