Tistory is a South Korean blog-hosting service that allows private or multi-user blogs.[1]
Dormant policy change
On 2025-08-18, the service announced a change to its dormant account policy, which will take effect on 2025-09-22. The new policy shortens the period of inactivity that leads to account and blog deletion from 5 years to 3 years.[2]
Video purge
On 2026-01-20, the service announced their plan to disable video uploads effective 2026-02-23. Existing videos were planned to be purged on 2026-03-23.[3] However, on 2026-02-09 they extended the video removal deadline to 2026-05-31.[4]
Overall, videos are pretty rare on the website, but some of the few that exists are quite valuable and worth saving. Some examples can be seen here.
