I have a group of data as following, how could I get the envelope of such data? By envelope, I mean a smooth curve that contains majority of the data.

- $\begingroup$ Hello Linfeng welcome to DSP.SE! As Jdip mentioned this has been covered a lot already. In most cases for a relatively narrowband modulated carrier it is simply the magnitude of the analytic signal as answered here (and in many other posts): dsp.stackexchange.com/a/79379/21048 For wider band or baseband signals the approach similar to what is shown here may apply: Smooth envelope of an aperiodic signal. Do these answer your question? If not, please edit the question to make it clear how it’s different and/or how the answers on that question are not helpful for your problem. Thanks! $\endgroup$Dan Boschen– Dan Boschen2025-06-07 14:15:02 +00:00Commented Jun 7 at 14:15
