Hej there

I'm Philipp, based in the Munich area, Germany.

Currently I work as a software engineer and release coordinator for the NGO boxtribute that provides a web application to organize efficient, fair and dignified distribution of goods in the field of migration. You can fund our efforts and help us extend our non-commercial product to serve even more people in need!

I enjoy developing with Python, using efficient tooling in the command line and the terminal, if possible. Technologies I've been working with include

  • web development and API design (GraphQL, flask, REST, React, Auth0)
  • CI and Cloud management (CircleCI, Github Actions, Google Cloud, Docker)
  • AI assistants (Github Copilot)
  • test-driven and behavior-driven development (pytest, vitest, behave)
  • desktop GUI development (PyQt5, QML)
  • database management incl. business insight queries (MySQL, peewee)
  • GPU programming scientific programming, data analysis, and image processing
  • programming languages I've worked with in the past include: Java, C/C++, Javascript/Typescript

Since 2024 I also coordinate the release process for the fully-remote, international team of Boxtribute. This means additional responsibilities like

  • review of team code contributions
  • functional testing of the application
  • cutting monthly production releases including post-release monitoring
  • managing team collaboration (Slack, Trello, GitHub) Besides some hobby software projects (explore below) I try to make purposeful impact in ecological and social projects, e.g. community-supported agriculture, awareness for resource sustainability (especially food waste), permaculture.

You can also find me on LinkedIn.
