When I work in inkscape and use the Path Effect Tiling, and try to put path effected together, this happens:

image has overlap stroke

The strokes overlap, but I want them to be placed on top of each other, like this:

what the path is supposed to look like

Keep in your mind I'm not talking about postion and rotation.

So, is there a way to solve this? this options of Path Effect:

  • Hi. Welcome to GDSE. Not sure I understand your question. What are you trying to achieve with the path effect? I think you'd need to show us the original path, and what settings you are using in the Tiling effect. You can convert path effects into paths by doing Path > Object to path, then do Path > Break Apart to release the compound path. That will bake in the effect, and it will be converted to several separate paths. Is that what you want? Commented Aug 8 at 12:16
  • you're welcome, I will put pictures of what it is supposed to be, and a picture of the options. Commented Aug 8 at 15:28

Not sure why you would want to do this, but it's possible.

First fill a rectangle white, no stroke. Then add a thinner rectangle top and bottom filled black. Group these three objects together.

Apply the Path Effect to the group, and choose the option to Split elements.

Then you can select any of the elements with the Select tool S, and move them in the stack as you would any other object by using Object > Raise to top/Raise/Lower/Lower to bottom, or use the buttons along the top
