Tinariwen 2017.Mar.07 - Liverpool BBC Radio 3

As promised more than a year ago, and later requested by several followers of my blog (who I kept waiting for so long, sorry), herewith the complete BBC recordings of the concert Tinariwen gave on 2017.March.07 in Liverpool.
picture made at concert by David J.Colbran

It's the whole broadcast, cut into music and talking parts, so didn't come to cutting it into individual tracks (splitting m4a-files is really a too long drag for me now).
At the end a bonus, broadcasted in the same radio show after the concert recordings, and as it is directly related to my previous post (about Khaira Arby) makes it pretty neat!!!

Tinariwen-20170729_Juicy Beats Dortmund

Seems starting up again is a little more difficult than expected. So after some 3 weeks after previous post, herewith a real new upload.
Tinariwen 2017.Jul.29 at Juicy Beats Festival in Dortmund, Germany
A recent performance byTinariwen, the Tamasheq band with dry sand in their guitars and rhythms like driving camels (two steps ahead, one step back, and so on, but always slowly going ahead).

The funny thing from this recording is that the female singer seems to be living since some time in Germany and speaking the language of the audience, pretty good even!! The show is recorded by Cosmo Live, that is the former Funkhaus Europa Live, from which in the past I've posted several live recordings. No further 'talking' by me, here's the music for all of you!!

More media for Tinariwen at Juicy Beats 2017:

PS: Somebody asked for the BBC recordings from April, the splitting of those m4a files takes more time, for me at least (splitting, listening back, correct splitting, etc.). So this is in the pipeline, but before completion, the posting of this Cosmo recording seemed the best thing to do.

Tinariwen - 2017.Mar.07 Live in Liverpool

Quick post.

Tinariwen 2017.Mar.07 (source: kin2kin.co.uk)
Just found that the concert by Tinariwen 2017.Mar.07 at the Invisible Wind Factory in Liverpool can be listened to for about a month at the BBC Radio 3 Website (till 2017.May.21).

Here it's available: World on 3 (2017.Apr.21)

The page includes full setlist and some background info, before the show itself there is a good introduction by Andy Morgan (former manager of Tinariwen).

ENJOY!! Recommended while eating a fresh one!!

PS1: when the show can not be listened to anymore on the BBC site, I'll post the full concert, incl.interesting talk, here at Mangue Music (similar like Orchestra Baobab earlier)
PS2: soon to follow more/other Malian Music from the BBC

Tinariwen 2001.Nov.13 - Momo's London

Ordering all music, noticed that of one of the 'styles' I really like, I hadn't posted any yet: Touareg - Tamasheq music. I first heard this music on the international debut release of Tinariwen and was immediately hooked.

Their guitar motivs, rhythms and vocals/chants give you this slowly forward moving circling feeling, like riding a camel, up two steps forward, than down one step back, again up two forward, down one back, and so on....
Now many years later, they are well known internationally and, despite the problems on their home soil, still going strong. Many other musicians from the Sahara are inspired by them and invited to perform all over our globe. One thing they all seem to have in commen, that longing to return home to their dry desert soil.

So as a opening post for the 'Tamasheq' music, I present you the oldest live recording I have, Tinariwen in the autumn of 2001 in Momo's London. Unfortunately I couldn't identify all tracks (to my ears they don't match the setlist mentioned by Andy Kershaw), so all help from you is welcome to get the correct titles.

Listen to the first track
