In one sentence, how will we describe Code Review to the world?
- 1\$\begingroup\$ Did you mean slogan or elevator pitch? An elevator pitch should really be more than one sentence. Or a really long, grammatically incorrect run-on. \$\endgroup\$greg– greg2011-04-01 17:28:48 +00:00Commented Apr 1, 2011 at 17:28
- 1\$\begingroup\$ @greg This blog post describes it more thoroughly, but basically for the SE sites it's supposed to be a quick description of the site. For instance, SO is "for professional and enthusiast programmers." \$\endgroup\$Michael K– Michael K Mod2011-04-01 18:24:19 +00:00Commented Apr 1, 2011 at 18:24
- 2\$\begingroup\$ hmm, i think he meant brief description, not brief sentence. wikipedia some website what you guys are after is really a slogan. you couldn't really pitch anything with one sentence. unless it was, "oh, it cures cancer" or "oh, it makes bacon healthy, prints money, and is a hell of a card player" \$\endgroup\$greg– greg2011-04-03 06:48:08 +00:00Commented Apr 3, 2011 at 6:48

- 5\$\begingroup\$ Nice one, except it makes it sound like CR is here to help you debug code... which it isn't. \$\endgroup\$Mathieu Guindon– Mathieu Guindon2013-09-08 22:17:16 +00:00Commented Sep 8, 2013 at 22:17

"Get eyes on your code."
... meh, sounded better in my head.
- \$\begingroup\$ Maybe "Get some eyes on your code"? \$\endgroup\$Ethan Bierlein– Ethan Bierlein2015-05-18 03:22:36 +00:00Commented May 18, 2015 at 3:22
For all programmers that care about what they're coding.
- Where bad code comes to die.
- CodeReview - Fixing your code, day and night, without
Exceptions.
Code Review is...
The largest repository of working code samples on the Internet.
<sarcasm>And idiots waiting around to make them even better for a handful of Internet points...</sarcasm>
- 2\$\begingroup\$ I don't think that last part is really necessary... \$\endgroup\$Simon Forsberg– Simon Forsberg2015-05-12 00:52:29 +00:00Commented May 12, 2015 at 0:52
- 1\$\begingroup\$ @SimonAndréForsberg The last part is a joke. I edited it down to the
font to make a more clear distinction... I'm obviously one of these idiots... \$\endgroup\$nhgrif– nhgrif2015-05-12 00:53:11 +00:00Commented May 12, 2015 at 0:53
"You know they are there ... somewhere. you know they reduce your performance, your productivity. See your reviewer about diagnosis and possible treatments."
"Find out what other people are saying about your code."
"polish your code" ...................................
come get your code more readable, idiomatic, and efficient
CodeReview.StackExchange.com
"Where public code reviews are done right"
"Where public code reviews live"
The place where bad code is tearfully taken out behind the shed
"Exterminate your bugs."
Or, alternatively:
"It can be better."
