The modern version, created by Léon Jehin in 1914, was played for the first time during the 25th Anniversary of the
beginning Prince Albert's 1st reign.

In 1931 Louis Notari wrote the lyrics in the Monegasque language.

CURRENCY

Monaco adopted the euro (€) as its official currency on January 1, 2002. Euros minted in Monaco have special Monegasque features on one side of the coin. (1, 2, and 5 cent coins: Grimaldis’ coat of arms; 10, 20, and 50 cent coins: Prince’s seal; 1 and 2 euro coins: Rainier III or Albert II profiles.)

Monaco has its own Stamp Issuing Office and has nowadays 28.000 customers.

Since 1996, Monaco has its own international dialing code. The International Telecommunication Union has assigned the country code +377 to the Principality.
