Inspiration
We saw that many people want to follow Jain values daily, but finding guidance or nearby temples isn’t always easy. So we created Jain Sphere to make spiritual living simple and accessible for everyone. We wanted to bridge tradition and technology to make spiritual living simple, accessible, and practical for everyday life.
What it does
Jain Sphere helps users access Jain teachings in text, audio, and video formats while also discovering nearby Jain temples using location-based services. It provides daily guidance, spiritual learning, and real-life support for practicing Jain values consistently.
How we built it
The Jain Sphere App is a premium spiritual companion that bridges 2,500 years of Jain tradition with modern technology. Jain Sphere is designed using a scalable, modular architecture focused on performance and simplicity. The platform is planned with a React-based frontend for a clean, responsive user interface and a Java Spring Boot backend to manage content delivery, user requests, and system logic.
Location-based temple discovery is supported through Google Maps API integration for accurate, real-time results. Content is structured and delivered through RESTful APIs to ensure smooth communication between components.
The system follows a user-centered design approach, prioritizing accessibility, clarity, and reliability. The architecture is built to scale easily from a web platform to a full mobile application in future releases.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was balancing spiritual depth with modern simplicity. We wanted the platform to feel peaceful, not overwhelming meaningful, not complicated. Defining the right features for a focused MVP required thoughtful decisions. Making something spiritual feel simple was not easy. We had to choose only the most useful features and keep the experience calm and clear.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a meaningful solution that connects tradition with modern technology in a practical way people can use every day.
What we learned
We learned the importance of user-centered design, feature prioritization, and building technology that supports real human values rather than just functionality.
What's next for Jain Sphere
Next step is building the MVP, adding more authentic content, and launching a mobile app to help more people live Jain values daily.
