I have the circuit in the picture of a pushbutton interlock on a test bed setup that I'm experimenting with. I was hoping someone to show me how I would go about making another set of push button controls for a different location. That is to add and second set of two start push buttons and one stop push button. Everything I've tried makes one or the other set of controls not work.

  • \$\begingroup\$ What do you define as remote? \$\endgroup\$ Commented Jul 27 at 15:20
  • \$\begingroup\$ Remote just means another set of control, that is 1 stop button and 2 start button connected to the circuit at another location 15ft away. \$\endgroup\$ Commented Jul 28 at 1:22
  • \$\begingroup\$ It might be easier if you have a mechanical interlock between the contactors. This would eliminate the electrical interlock and make the solution simpler. \$\endgroup\$ Commented Jul 29 at 7:19

Use a schematic to represent your circuit rather than a wiring diagram. It's much easier to follow.

It would seem to me, the simplest solution would be to add a parallel set of switches. Something along the lines of the diagram shown below: Note: This version picks up the missing wire and also incoporates a serial connection for the stIncorporatesop switches.

  • \$\begingroup\$ Hey, just want to acknowledge your response. I will get a chance to try this tomorrow in the lab, will let you know if this works. Thanks. \$\endgroup\$ Commented Jul 30 at 2:04
  • \$\begingroup\$ Just letting you know that I tried, and it did not work. Thanks for the suggestion though. \$\endgroup\$ Commented Aug 2 at 14:47
  • \$\begingroup\$ What do you mean it did not work? What specific aspect failed? \$\endgroup\$ Commented Aug 2 at 19:49
  • \$\begingroup\$ I just noticed there is a wire missing in my diagram. Specifically a wire from C2 NO-T to both Switch 2 NO contacts on the lower right side. \$\endgroup\$ Commented Aug 2 at 19:52
