I have a Pioneer AV receiver which recently went bad. I can hear only the high frequencies from the speakers.

It does not matter which input source I select (tuner, dvd, cd etc.) and it happens on all output channels (front L/R, surround L/R etc.).

Since the problem is common to all inputs and outputs I feel that there is a specific common source of the problem. I have the schematics and would like to try and pinpoint the source of the problem.

I did check the speakers against another system and they were fine.

Any help would be welcome.

\$\begingroup\$ Please show the relevant portions of the schematics and any troubleshooting notes so far (as far as expected vs actual values on the schematics); people answering neither have the schematics, nor the device itself, so an answer at this point would at best be guesswork. \$\endgroup\$ Commented Nov 22 at 6:50

\$\begingroup\$ Has someone mucked around with the bass management settings, like told the device that you have a subwoofer and all bass should be directed there instead of L/R speakers - so how do you even know if the AV receiver is broken? \$\endgroup\$ Commented Nov 22 at 7:00
