I wanna make a new template, that would be used across many pages. This is something big, so, is there a specific namespace I could prototype it and test it in? Or could I just start making it like any other template? --Fortek67 (talk) 21:35, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- Fortek67, you can test it in your user sandbox. What template are you trying to make? — Qwerfjkltalk 09:04, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Qwerfjkl, I want to make a "Train services" template for Polish railway stations. For Polish railway stations it is a standard to have a train services section at the bottom of the article, listing all current train routes stopping at the station, sourced with their official timetable (see example).
- Now, these routes change very often. The linked timetable becomes outdated every few months, and sometimes, when a new station opens, or an old one closes, the linked timetable will need to be updated manually to list the new station. I have encountered this issue multiple times, as I create and edit railway station articles in Poland. So, I want to create a template, where all you do is for every route listed, you simply enter the operator (e.g. kd), and then the route number (for kd it would be something like D10). This would output a nicely formatted list, that is up to date. I have already began making these. My current method is copy and pasting those routes from my list, but will be much better with a template. I am already starting to prototype a template here, like you suggested. - This would have to work with a module, which I don't think I can trial within my userspace. Here's what it would look like though (excuse the broken formatting). Fortek67 (talk) 11:13, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
- Fortek67, you can test modules by making a subpage of Module:Sandbox. — Qwerfjkltalk 08:47, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Pratham31sinha (12:33, 31 March 2026)
[edit]Hi i want to ask from you that i want to add this on article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahu_Hamari_Rajni_Kant
She is a highly advanced humanoid robot that is created with the intention of protecting and helping humans. She is also stronger than an ordinary human being, which enables her to stop moving vehicles and engage in combat with multiple enemies at once. She is also fast-moving. She is able to respond quickly due to her reflexes and agility, which is highly effective in situations where there is high pressure, especially in close combat situations. She is also effective in situations where there is high pressure since she is able to deal with danger in an effective manner.
She is created with the primary intention of protecting and helping humans. She is independent in the execution of her role but is also able to improve with time.
Is this okay? Also, I dont find trusted sites, only jiohotstar episodes is the way to prove this sentences so i can add episodes nunber with link in refrence with each of the sentences. Is these evidence acceptable? I had edited and added this on that article but it was reverted after a few hours. Please reply me . 😊😁😉 --Pratham31sinha (talk) 12:33, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Pratham31sinha the article doesn't need to go into that kind of depth; see WP:CRUFT. I've reverted your edits that added it. — Qwerfjkltalk 13:31, 1 April 2026 (UTC)

MassCFD bug report
[edit]When updating an old CFD nomination with new proposed actions by way of the "old nomination" tab, MassCFD creates a {{Cfm full}} template that links to the current CFD log, rather than the one specified in the "discussion link" field. See for example here, where it links to the nonexistent Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2026 April 1#Characters who use magic categories, when the actual discussion is located at the March 31st log, having been created a few hours prior, before the day changed over. Needless to say, it also neglects to automatically update the existing discussion with additional notes of the newly added proposed actions. This requires manual corrections to resolve, as seen in these edits: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7] silviaASH (inquire within) 01:40, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
- @SilviaASH, I'll try to fix it tagging the categories with the wrong date. I've been unfortunately busy in real life lately, but I think I should have some spare time soon.
Needless to say, it also neglects to automatically update the existing discussion with additional notes of the newly added proposed actions
This is intentional; discussions are not really strucutured enough for me to reliably insert new categories into the nomination (not to mention detect cases when the categories are already in the nomination, but were previously untagged). — Qwerfjkltalk 16:31, 1 April 2026 (UTC)- alrighty, thank you for replying and clarifying. silviaASH (inquire within) 17:29, 1 April 2026 (UTC)

How can I nominate an article for a deletion? Two days ago I reported an AI article creator account. I would like to start nominating the articles for deletion that were created by the account, as someone already has nominated two articles. Starting with Jelenia Góra railway station first. Thanks, --Fortek67 (talk) 23:27, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
- Fortek67, they probably qualify for G15, you can tag them for speedy deletion. Or you can take them to {{WP:AFD|]] if you don't think they meet that bar. In either case the easiest way to do this is with Twinkle. — Qwerfjkltalk 16:33, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- So, I can see it's much easier to do so with Twinkle... do I need to request permission to use it, similar to AWB? Fortek67 (talk) 16:46, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Adams method (disambiguation)
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Adams method (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is:
- a disambiguation page with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" which lists only one extant Wikipedia page (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- a disambiguation page that lists zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- a redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" whose target is neither a disambiguation page nor page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 13:22, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Tech News: 2026-15
[edit]Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Updates for editors
- The CampaignEvents extension now includes a new group goal-setting feature, enabling organizers to set and track event goals such as the number of articles created and participating contributors in real time. Similarly, participants can work toward shared targets and see their collective impact as the event unfolds. The feature is now available on all Wikimedia wikis. Learn more in the documentation.
The new watchlist labels feature (announced in Tech News 2026-07) is now available via VisualEditor, the source editor, and the 'watchstar' (or watch link, for skins that don't have a star icon). Previously it was only possible to assign labels via EditWatchlist. In all three places it is a new field following the expiry field.
View all 23 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week. For example, the issue where talk pages on mobile with Parsoid are unusable after empty section headers, has now been fixed. [8]
Updates for technical contributors
- The sub-referencing feature, which lets editors add details to an existing reference without duplicating it, will be gradually rolled out to more wikis later this year. Wikis using the Reference Tooltips gadget are encouraged to update their version (typically at MediaWiki:Gadget-ReferenceTooltips.js as shown here) to ensure compatibility. Other reference-related gadgets may also be affected. [9]
- All Wikinews editions will be closed and switched to read-only mode on 4 May 2026. Content will remain accessible, but no new edits or articles can be added. This closure was approved by the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation following extended discussions. Read more.
- The Action API has had several formats for requested output. One of them,
format=php, is being removed soon. Please ensure your scripts or bots use the JSON format. This removal should affect very few scripts and bots. [10] - The Special:NamespaceInfo page now includes namespace aliases. For example "WP" for the "Project" ("Wikipedia") namespace on the German Wikipedia. [11]

Hello!
I had worked on an article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:K._Anand_Kumar. Could you please guide me on how to work on this article. I had written the article myself, and I am nowhere connected to the person in that article. --AaBas12 (talk) 10:53, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- AaBas12, the main issue, I would say, is with the sources. For instance you reference https://www.thedailystar.net/news/asia/india/news/dengue-vaccine-indian-manufacturer-targets-jan-2026-launch-3401921, which is a good source, but entirely useless for the article, because it's not about the the subject, it just includes a quote from him. The statement it's supporting,
Kumar has been quoted in international reporting on vaccine development initiatives, including timelines relating to dengue vaccine programmes led by Indian manufacturers.
, is probably an example of why it was rejected for reading like a resume. That doesn't really provide any information about the subject. — Qwerfjkltalk 11:00, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

- Karakocanî23, Welcome! Creating a new article from scratch is extremely challenging, and new editors are strongly recommended to spend a few months learning how Wikipedia works, by making improvements to some of our existing seven million articles before trying it. When you do decide to have a go at a new article, you are highly encouraged to read Help:Your first article. If you haven't already also check out the tutorial; it's a lot of fun!
