OpenChat for Linux is a native Linux desktop client for ChatGPT. It’s built with Tauri (Rust) to stay lightweight and stable, and it’s designed for long conversations using message windowing: it keeps only a small active slice of the chat in memory and loads older messages as you scroll, preventing slowdowns and crashes common with very long threads in a normal browser session. Downloads AppImage, Debian package (.deb), and tarball releases are available, along with packaging recipes/manifests for Snap/RPM/AUR/Nix.
