I want to delete small areas from my layer (Polygon).

I already tried:

  1. Delete holes (don't delete all of them)
  2. Doing Multipart to Single-parts and then delete holes
  3. Creating $area but it will leave the holes later

Do you have any other tools or something I should check? Delete holes does what I'm looking for except it doesn't delete all the small zones.

You want to merge small polygons with their larger neighbours.

  • "Select by expression" to select small polygons: $area<20000 . Change 20000 to the area limit you want to use. It is in the units of your CRS, in my case it means 20000 square meters.

  • "Eliminate Selected Polygons" to merge the selected polygons with adjacent polygons either by:

    1. Largest Area
    2. Smallest Area
    3. Or Largest Common Boundary
