Install and activate Elementor page builder before activating Enhanced Designs.
-
After activating Enhanced Designs, the plugin will add 2 new options in the menu dashboard menu: the first is temporary, kept only for testing purposes for now, and the other one the is designs dashboard, where users can manage their designs.
-
Go to
Enhanced Designspage (temporary one) and add a new design, whis action will create a new CPT. In the future this will be done through the designs dashboard. -
Give any
name, import methodandrequired featuresyou want, and on the sidebar selections, select aSupported Widgetstaxonomy, such asbutton, counterorheading, they are easier to test compared tocontainer. -
If you want, also set a feature image for this CPT. Is optional, but will make the design look better on the designs dashboard.
-
After saving this new CPT, click on Edit with Elementor. The Elementor editor will load.
-
In the elementor editor screen, search for and add the widget you selected as
Supported Widgeton the taxonmy part, in step 3. E.g: if you selectedbuttonfor example, search for and add abuttonwidget to the page. Customize it, changing color, style, or anything that gives a different look so you can see the plugin purpose in the next steps. -
After saving, go back to wordpress dashboard. Go to
Designs Hubpage to see how the dashboard works. You can archive, delete, and open the design in elementor editor directly, to customize the widget in there. Theres also some options to filter and better see the design. This step is to show how the dashboard works so far. -
Now, to see the import feature in action, open or create a new page in Wordpress dashboard and edit it with Elementor.
-
Add the selected widget again, the one choosed on step 3, to the page in elementor editor screen.
-
Hover the widget, a pink pencil will appear in the top right corner of the widget, then hover this pink pencil for a second. A new
Eicon will appear right besides the pencil. Click on it to open the Enhanced Designs popup. If you properly added the same widget you created a design for, you should see it in the popup. -
Hover the design and click on Import. The recently added widget show now look like the one you've created. That's the modular design import feature this plugin offers.
