Summary

  • Fix login.py: Replace reused variable with different types by using properly typed invitation_data variable (removed TODO comment and 3 type: ignore annotations)
  • Fix template_transformer.py: Add type annotations to inner function convert_scientific_notation to avoid no-any-return warning

This is a partial fix for #24494, following the pattern established in #24649.

Summary of Changes

Hello @majiayu000, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request focuses on improving code quality and type safety by addressing and removing unnecessary type: ignore comments in two key Python files. The changes involve refining variable typing and adding explicit function annotations, contributing to a cleaner codebase that is easier to understand and maintain, aligning with ongoing refactoring efforts.

Highlights

  • Improved Type Safety in login.py: The login.py file has been refactored to replace a ambiguously typed invitation variable with a clearly typed invitation_data variable, explicitly defining it as dict[str, Any] | None. This change eliminates three type: ignore comments and a TODO comment, enhancing code clarity and type safety.
  • Enhanced Type Annotations in template_transformer.py: Type annotations (value: Any) -> Any) have been added to the convert_scientific_notation inner function within template_transformer.py. This resolves a no-any-return warning and allows for the removal of a type: ignore[no-any-return] comment, improving the maintainability and type-checking of the code.

Code Review

This pull request is a nice refactoring that cleans up type: ignore comments in login.py and template_transformer.py, improving type safety and code clarity. The changes are well-executed. In login.py, a variable that was being reused for different types has been replaced with a new, properly typed variable. In template_transformer.py, adding type hints to an inner function resolved a no-any-return warning. I've added one suggestion for login.py to further improve type safety by using a TypedDict, which would make the data structure more explicit.
