Smarter Intro Mode

• Intro rounds only appear from round 4 onwards

• After the 15-second challenge window, music continues playing (no longer pauses)

✨ What's New

PWA: Add to Homescreen
Beatify now installs as a Progressive Web App. Tap the install prompt on the admin screen or use the explicit install button in the header — and Beatify lives on your homescreen like a real app.

Share Your Results
The end screen now includes a shareable result card — a Wordle-style emoji grid of your round results. On mobile, the native share sheet opens directly. On desktop, it downloads as a card image.

Revanche (Rematch)
Players can now challenge for a rematch directly from the end screen — no need to scan QR codes again. One tap and everyone's back in the lobby.

Greatest Metal Songs playlist
52 legendary tracks across all major metal subgenres (1970–2020), fully enriched with certifications, awards and streaming links.

Dutch Top 100 enriched
The Top 100 Allertijden Nederlandstalig now includes fun facts in 4 languages and alternative artist suggestions for every track.

Every game now ends with an auto-generated highlight reel — the Top 8 moments your group created. Exact year matches, killer streaks, bold bets, speed records, heartbreaking near-misses, epic comebacks, photo finishes. All captured, all celebrated.

Beatify v2.5.0 delivers faster gameplay, a thrilling Intro Mode, Quick Rematch, a fullscreen launcher, and a wave of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements — plus 3 new playlists and all names standardized to English.

⚡ New Feature: Intro Mode

Think you can name a song from just 10 seconds? Toggle Intro Mode in game settings and random rounds will only play a short intro snippet before the music stops — then you guess in silence!

• Fullscreen splash overlay — a big ⚡ "INTRO ROUND — Only 10 seconds!" appears so nobody misses it
• Guaranteed frequency — at least 1 intro round every 4 rounds (no more dry streaks)
• Resume on reveal — the full song plays when the answer is shown
• Intro Master superlative — awarded to the best intro guesser

🔁 New Feature: Quick Rematch

🎬 New Superlative: Film Buff

Playing movie soundtracks? The player who racks up the most movie quiz bonus points gets the Film Buff award — now with proper i18n in all 4 languages.

🚀 Fullscreen Launcher

The HA sidebar button now opens a launcher page instead of embedding the game in an iframe. One click opens Beatify in a clean new tab — no Home Assistant chrome, no sidebar, no distractions. Just the game.

⚡ Faster Round Transitions

We cut the dead time between rounds significantly:

• Preflight caching — speaker verified once, skipped for all subsequent rounds
• Timeout-bounded playback — play calls can't hang forever
• Better error messages — timeouts and failures now log which URI failed

🐛 Bug Fix

• Apple Music & Tidal via Music Assistant (#155) — URIs now correctly converted before passing to MA, fixing playback failures for Apple Music and Tidal users

• Fix song/answer desync on Sonos + Spotify (#124) — Songs were showing wrong artist/title because the game relied on async media player metadata, which can be stale on Sonos. Now uses playlist data as the source of truth for song identity. Album art is still fetched from the media player.
• Fix invalid Spotify URIs in Pure Pop Punk and 2000s Pop Anthems (#122)
• Hide playlist requests section during active game (#107)

Beatify now supports YouTube Music as a music service provider alongside Spotify and Apple Music! Select YouTube Music in the admin settings to use it as your music service. Playlists now include YouTube Music URIs for seamless playback through the Music Assistant integration.
