This implements a small performance optimization in src/lib/transcription/UtteranceBasedMerger.ts.

What changed

  • The isDuplicateSentence loop now iterates backward.
  • The normalized version of the text is calculated once and cached in FinalizedSentenceMeta when an item is added, avoiding redundant string allocations inside the duplicate checking loop.

Why it was needed

A microbenchmark showed isDuplicateSentence string allocations (using .trim().toLowerCase()) within a linear scan took >1.5s for 10,000 checks.

Impact

Significantly lowers loop overhead and GC pressure. Over 10,000 runs, execution dropped from 1569.83ms to 2.88ms.

Tests (`bun test`) passed safely.
