Japanese Parasitic Worm Pen refers to a viral video that circulated on X / Twitter in early April 2026. The video, which purports to showcase a Japanese pen containing a real parasitic worm living in herbal oil (for an undisclosed reason), spread across the platform as users discussed it and created memes referencing it, such as drawing comparisons to the fictional Umbrella Corporation from the Resident Evil survival horror video game series and media franchise.
Origin
On April 7th, 2026, X[1] user @TRIGGERHAPPYV1 posted a video of what is supposedly a pen filled with living, parasitic worms, with very little context or explanation as to why the pen was created. The post quickly went viral on the platform, receiving over 20.2 million views and 23,000 likes in just two days.

X / Twitter users reacted to the viral video with both bewilderment and amusement as it spread on the platform in early April 2026.
On April 7th, 2026, X[2] user @roomofoomfs quoted the original video with the caption, "imagine keeping this in ur pocket & the worms escape and crawl into ur pussyyyyy," which received over 2.9 million views and 112,000 likes in just two days.
The same day, X[3] user @NoQuarterSoft quoted the same post with the caption, "Umbrella Corporation 5 year work anniversary present." The post received over 2.6 million views and 182,000 likes in two days.
Comparisons to the horror aesthetic of Resident Evil continued as the video spread. On April 8th, 2026, X[4] user @JohnnyMonke quoted the video, writing, "The kind of shit a Resident Evil villain carries around and stabs themselves with before transforming into a giant meatblob with lots of eyes to shoot at." The post received over 1.8 million views and 117,000 likes in just one day.
While many reacted to the pen with humorous replies, some X / Twitter users also pointed out what they perceived as animal cruelty involved in the device.
On April 8th, 2026, X[5] user @formaldehyke posted, "Am I being too woke to say this is pointless animal abuse," which received 5.5 million views and 35,000 likes in just one day.
