I'm working through an undergraduate course in complex analysis and am currently on a chapter entitled Cauchys integral theorem, where i encountered this question as an exercise. It doesn't seem like it should be all that difficult to answer, but I don't see how to approach answering this. Any help would be appreciated! I am struggling quite a bit with this course!

(ps the book is the third edition of "Fundamentals of Complex Analysis Engineering, Science and Mathematics" by Saff and Snider. Exercise 11, chapter 4.4)
