I was trying to flag a question when I encountered this error. Perhaps the screenshots will help.

number of flags

error

As evident from the screenshots, I have enough flags left. Why am I encountering this error?

New Observation

This is the problem only on a few questions. I am not facing any problem flagging other questions.

$\begingroup$ Was that a one-time error or does it persist? $\endgroup$ Commented Mar 27 at 9:58
  • $\begingroup$ @MartinR it is persisting. I have tried flagging that question at least 5 times. $\endgroup$ Commented Mar 27 at 9:58

$\begingroup$ Re: Your "This is the problem only on a few questions. I am not facing any problem flagging other questions." question statement, I suspect the problem is not due to the specific questions you're trying to flag but, rather, the type of flags you're using on them. $\endgroup$ Commented Mar 27 at 15:52

$\begingroup$ @JohnOmielan I have tried using different flags on different questions. But am facing the same issues. $\endgroup$ Commented Mar 27 at 15:54
  • $\begingroup$ I can sort of replicate your situation by trying to flag, and then clicking "Needs Improvement". When I do that, I get re-directed to a close window. Is that what you are doing? $\endgroup$ Commented Mar 27 at 16:17

According to the answer to John Omielan's question, the problem seems to have been resolved.

$\begingroup$ As my comment to that answer indicates, I have already confirmed it's now working properly, at least on Stack Overflow, about an hour earlier. To be more comprehensive and complete with your answer, I suggest you update it sometime when you're quite confident it's also been fixed for you (e.g., when you are now able to successfully flag one of the questions you weren't able to before) to specifically indicate this. $\endgroup$ Commented Mar 27 at 17:42
  • $\begingroup$ @JohnOmielan unfortunately the questions seem to have already deleted. So, I actually can't say for sure that it is completely fixed. However, I haven't faced any problem recently in flagging(about an hour or so) $\endgroup$ Commented Mar 27 at 17:46

$\begingroup$ Thanks for the info. I'm glad you're currently not having any problems with flagging. If you recall the type of flagging you were doing previously that wasn't working, or any type of pattern among the questions you were working with, that is now working properly instead, you may wish to update your answer to indicate this. $\endgroup$ Commented Mar 27 at 17:52
