When we planned our Charleston outing for our anniversary, we were going to visit a few antique stores and then have a nice dinner. My aunt’s proposition changed that, though. We knew we would be transporting two large paintings in bulky frames home, so space would be at a premium.
This weekend, I turned forty-eight. It made me think about all of the birthdays I’ve shared about here on my blog, and if you’ve been with me since the early years, you’ve followed me through most of my 30s and now well into my 40s. Dare I say, almost fifty?
When I first saw this 1970s brick ranch house, I felt like it was a gem, hidden behind overgrown landscaping, faded green siding, and brickwork wearing remnants of ivy roots. The inside hadn’t been updated since it was built, just the kind of project I was looking for. I could tell from the quality wallpaper and handmade curtains that this was a house that was loved. We bought the house in 2022 and have been slowly bringing it back to life, striving to honor the original owners who built this as their dream home.
