So the plague, er - covid-19 is changing our plans. Local authorities are worried about the uptick in cases and the fact hospitals are filling fast. They're asking people to voluntarily give up any travel plans or gatherings for the rest of the month, probably longer. If not enough is done, then mandatory shut-downs will be considered and our governor can and will shut things down. He's done it before and has no qualms about listening to the experts.
So, we're *not* going north after all. It'll work out. We're going to focus on getting the back room sorted (major undertaking) so we can get someone (appropriately masked and maintaining social distance) to come in and get new hookups put in for a washer and dryer. We're also going to focus on getting the house ready for the holidays. That's a bit odd to us because we've always gone elsewhere for those, either up to MIL (rip) or over to Phoenix to visit my family. Still, we've all got so much to be thankful for this season. :-)
This was cheering for us: California prepares to transition from resisting Trump to collaborating with Biden
This was appalling: Arkansas police chief resigns after demanding 'death' for Democrats: 'Leave no survivors'
The depths our country has sunk to... Truthfully, it wouldn't have surprised me if these same sentiments were uttered even if conservatives had prevailed. Our country was certainly heading in that direction - as hateful and spiteful as the man who just lost the election.
Speaking of spite: A little-known Trump appointee is in charge of handing transition resources to Biden — and she isn’t budging
This is a highly informative read and I rec it for those who like to know the hows and whys of government functions.
You can't fight what you don't know about, so: Here are the GOP and Trump campaign’s allegations of election irregularities. So far, none has been proved.
A nice reminder that some government people still maintain their integrity: DOJ's top election crimes prosecutor quits in protest after Barr tells federal attorneys to probe unsupported allegations of voting irregularities
In more uplifting news: Philadelphia was told to brace for mass unrest. Instead, the city danced. That was no accident.
I love the quote: “Joy is itself an act of resistance.”
Yes it is. Resist. Insist. Persist.
We've done it this far.
Take care, everyone.
