I deployed some Apex + Visualforce code to the sandbox this morning (I'm not sure if this is the cause of the problem).

In the sandbox in Chrome, I have a frozen screen on the "Setup" page.

When I go to Microsoft Edge, the "Setup" page works normally.

Any ideas?

PS: Clearing the Chrome browser cache allows access to "Setup," but only for a few minutes, then it freezes again.

  • I think updating Chrome fixed the problem (no more frozen screen!) Commented Jul 17 at 12:50
  • I'm also getting this issue. It happens in Chrome and Edge. It doesn't happen in Firefox. Restarting my computer or browser doesn't help either. If I go directly to a setup page, it doesn't happen. i.e. mydomain--dev.sandbox.lightning.force.com/lightning/setup/Flows/… Commented Jul 18 at 2:43

Looks like there's a known issue for this.

Summary

The user is experiencing a consistent issue in the Salesforce Lightning UI Setup panel when using ultrawide monitors. The Setup page appears to partially load and then becomes unresponsive, displaying a persistent spinner.

According to the known issue, the workarounds are:

Workaround

  1. Switch to Salesforce Classic and open the setup.

  2. Using a smaller external monitor or lowering the window size also bypasses the issue.
