ScholarGPS™ offers two main search options using the same search box on the homepage:

Classic Search: Use this traditional keyword-based search for fast and precise results with two filter options (Profiles and Publications) — completely free, with no registration required. Search as often as you like.
ScholarGPS AI: Ask questions in natural language to receive deeper, AI-generated responses. Use the ScholarGPS AI to ask general questions about ScholarGPS™ or to query the ScholarGPS® database. Registered users can ask at most 10 questions per day.

Details

Profiles: ScholarGPS™ provides six types of comprehensive profiles: Scholars, Institutions, Countries, Fields, Disciplines, and Specialties, each with associated quantitative rankings.
ScholarGPS AI Results: If you use the ScholarGPS AI to query the ScholarGPS® database, the search will return up to 25 results. The ScholarGPS AI uses its default ranking of the results, but you can ask for a different sort order such as most recent, oldest, or most cited in your query.
Daily ScholarGPS AI Search Limit: Registered users may submit up to 10 ScholarGPS AI questions per day (registration is free).
Classic Search Limit: Unlimited searches with no registration required.
Follow-Up Questions: ScholarGPS AI searches cannot be used to ask follow-up questions based on a previous query.

Definitions

Highly Ranked Scholars: The most eminent scholars within their areas of expertise, representing the top 0.05%.
Top Scholars: Scholars ranked within the top 0.5%.
Lifetime: Rankings of scholars and institutions based on their lifetime contributions.
Prior Five Years: Rankings of scholars and institutions based on contributions during the preceding five years.
Active Scholars: Scholars who have published at least one publication within the prior five years.
