School year

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A school year is the time of year when students go to school. In some countries, it starts after summer, and goes to the next summer. The typical school year in the United States ranges from 170 days to 190 days. In the south, a school year is 180 days for students and 190 days for teachers. "Snow days" are when school is cancelled because of dangerous, slippery roads or sidewalks from snow. [1] These are usually made up by the end of the year. Some schools use remote learning to avoid school cancellations. [2]
