Name:Kelly
Birthdate:Dec 8
Location:Iowa, United States
I’m Kelly. I’m 27, genderqueer, generally queer, and married to [personal profile] geena… whose name is Geena. We got married on our fourth anniversary—November 17, 2011. We live with [personal profile] sarcasticsra, one of our best friends; she conducted our wedding ceremony. Thank goodness for online ordination!

We have five cats in a decently-sized apartment that we moved into in May 2013. Geena’s and my three are Ava, Toby, and Ven. Ava, the now-oldest, is Geena’s baby; she’s four and a total shit, but remarkably good with her brothers. Toby is the older of the boys at three, and he’s also more Geena’s than mine; he just wants to be loved, and he’s totally low cat on the totem pole. Last is Dark Avenger, or Ven, who we found running around outside the apartment building when he was eight weeks old, yelling his head off; he’s my little one, just a year old. Sara’s two are Sidney and Donna. Sidney’s the oldest in the apartment at seven, and he reminds me strongly of my cat, Hawkeye; he’s ~above it all~ when it comes to play or working out the household ranking system, but it doesn’t mean he can’t kick the other cats’ asses if he wants. Donna is one and even more of a shit than Ava was; we cannot leave food unattended for a second, even if we’re looking at it, or it’s gone.

We are, as that paragraph should tell you, total cat people.

I’m disabled (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, hypermobility variant [i.e., collagen disorder that has a lot of bad effects including my joints falling out of place easily]; arthritis; fibromyalgia; chronic migraines; bipolar I with psychotic features; generalized anxiety; social anxiety; panic disorder) and on Social Security Disability, Medicare, Medicaid, and food stamps. I’m pro-equality in all ways. I’m vocal and stubborn about things like feminism, queer rights, disability issues, and class issues. When it comes to race, I’ll participate in discussions, but I’m white and feel wrong about white-knighting or anything like that. I’m political and do what I can. I’m cool with discussion; I am not cool with anyone who’s anti-equality.

Recurring people around these parts include Geena ([personal profile] geena), of course; Sara ([personal profile] sarcasticsra), who is, for all intents and purposes, my little sister; Alex ([livejournal.com profile] gandolforf)/[personal profile] gandolforf, one of two friends in town; Dustin ([livejournal.com profile] guffer3), Alex’s spouse and the other person we know in town; Catie ([livejournal.com profile] honeystix), my actual little sister; Nikki ([personal profile] five_steps_back); Kat ([personal profile] bookblather); and SWL [personal profile] shipwreck_light.

I write. A lot. I keep a running count, which you can find if you’re curious. I mod [community profile] rainbowfic and its associated comms, alongside Sara, Geena, Kat, and SWL, and it’s where I post most of my writings; almost all of that is cross-posted to [personal profile] corlioni. That’s a shared journal with Geena and Sara for our shared universe, Polyfaceted, and I’ll talk about that if you ask. The other fiction I write for [community profile] rainbowfic can be found at [personal profile] judicious_imitation. (Retrospectively, that should have been my fanfic journal.) I’m also writing four ~novels~, which are in various stages of production. Any and all fanfic from 2011 on gets posted to [personal profile] gonerunningaway. There’s not a lot of it there, but I started out writing fanfic—met Geena, Sara, Alex (and, by extension, Dustin), and a whole bunch of amazing people via MASH fandom, actually (and I wouldn’t know most people without it, thanks to branching)—and I still love it when I write it. I have an old fanfic journal you can probably find. It is not representative of my current writing, though. I try not to take myself too seriously.

I also mod [community profile] bipolarsupport, which needs a lot of TLC to get it going again.

I watch movies like The Departed, Defiance, Death Race, and Cranked. I watch TV shows like The Black Donnellys, M*A*S*H, Criminal Minds, and How I Met Your Mother. I read Stephen King, Ann Rule, Shakespeare, and just about anything else when I have the focus for it. I listen to music like Springsteen, Aerosmith, Peter Gabriel, P!nk, Queen, and Dvořák.

I really, really don’t do much. I post a lot, and it’s about writing, health, and news, mostly. There’s a dose of politics in there, and I do talk about my family and friends. Mostly, it’s about my days, which are filled with writing and IMing. I do usually post at least once a day.

I like to make friends. I maintain nearly all my relationships via the Internet. IMing can be hard; my anxiety interferes. I talk a lot by email and by journal comments, though I’m not the best at leaving comments, I try to always reply. I read everything people post, even if I’ve been off for a few days and have to go back; I hope others do the same, though obviously I have no way of knowing.

That’s me in a very large nutshell. Feel free to say hi. I don’t bite those who do.
