I am an applied mathematician working in HPC. I enjoy both the applied math and the software engineering aspect of my work life. In math, I like matrix analysis, real and functional analysis, numerical analysis, numerical methods for PDE, optimization and data assimilation. In HPC, I focus on C/C++ code design and optimization (with some interactions with Fortran), distributed and shared memory programming (MPI, OpenMP, Cuda, mostly).
