I've not downvoted the question myself, but I can see why people might. The question is broad, lacking the sort of specific details that enable great answers.

To quote the help page on questions to avoid:

You should only ask practical, answerable questions based on actual problems that you face.

and as per your comment on one of the answers:

Note: I am a retired software engineer with about 30 years of experience. I also have a Master Degree in Computer Science plus credits towards PhD.

So the question clearly isn't about you - and it makes it very difficult, because anyone asking for clarifying details is either going to get none or something purely hypothetical.

-1

Its currently +1/-2 so nothing to worry about. Downvotes can happen for many reasons, but mostly from users that in some degree found your post lacking effort or of low quality. Unfortunately only the person that cast the vote knows the true reasons why, but one can "read the room" in comments and have an idea why the downvotes.

Looking at the comments under your post some users seem to find it a bit broad to answer meaningfully.

Also, I see that you accepted an answer there, so that tells us that you got the help you needed and marked an answer as accepted (the one that helped you most). You also provided a bit of feedback to comments asking for clarification, so you are doing things ok.

You got some help and thoughts, they seem to be useful for you and surely for future users reading it. I wouldn't break my head over why its currently -1

**Edit: Its now +3/-2
