quick blender question, I am just rendering the final earring image, and it seems there’s ridges when it reflects the bg, somethings I’ve tried is changing the BG to equilateral/mirror ball, auto smoothing, sculp smoothing, and adding geometry around it and it still doesn’t seem to be smoothing out the reflection, here are the screenshots and the BG im using: enter image description here

I think the ridges are in your mesh, you can kinda see them on the solid view as well. it looks like the vertex is either pinched or raised?or do you have any sort of weight assigned to them?

If you're not working with sub-d modifier yet I would try to use "relax" from looptools*. Or maybe even using looptools' different options to even out those vertex.

*In case you don't have loop tools, its an add-on on blender, you can enable it either from add-ons or extensions depending on your blender version.

Or maybe try using simpler mesh and using a sub-d modifier to re-create, it would normally smooth out issues like this. OR the last thing I can think of is using data transfer from another re-created mesh on this and it would smooth out for the reflections.

if this is what you're talking about: screenshot
