I sculpted a high poly mesh and then created the UV map to have seperate islands for each side of the block. I wanted to create a low poly version to bake the high poly maps on to, however when I duplicate the object and use the decimate modifier, it joins all the edges of the seperate islands on the UV map I created.
Is there an option which helps preserve the original islands without joining them? or is this unavoidable?
