If there is a bug in SpellBound please let me know through the Contact form especially since I may miss it if you post it in the MozillaZine Forums or an equivalent place. If the bug also exists in the Mozilla Suite Composer / Mail or Thunderbird it will be fixed after the code has been fixed in the either of those by utilizing the same code. I would still like to know about it so please don't hesitate to report it anyway. In case you are wondering where the feature requests are located they are listed separately on the Feature Requests page which is different than the way it is done in Bugzilla. I have tried to use the same terminology elsewhere when it is convenient to do so. Before reporting any bug I would appreciate it if you first check to see if the bug exists with only SpellBound installed. This can be accomplished by Profile Manager, installing only SpellBound, and then checking to see if SpellBound works. Please report your findings along with your operating system, Firefox or Mozilla Suite version, and a list of the extensions you have installed by using the Contact form. The InfoLister extension is excellent at providing this information with Firefox.
A lot of great work has been put into the new Extension Manager and it appears to have stabilized as of the Firefox 1.0 Preview Release (e.g. Internal Version 0.10.0). If you are using a version of Firefox that has the new Extension Manager and it was released prior to the 1.0 Preview Release there are a couple of issues with the Extension Manager that may be the source of the problem and I highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest release available from http://www.mozilla.org/.
A couple of additional notes regarding bugs...
Every bug report so far on Linux regarding SpellBound not working has been due to a permissions issue. The files for SpellBound have been packaged after performing a chmod 755 to libmyspell.so and libspellchecker.so and chmod 644 to all of the remaining files to get around Bug ID 189905. A couple of the issues that can occur when permissions are not correctly set were seen with the Firefox 0.10.1 Critical Update on October 2, 2004 (see Bug ID 262558 and Bug ID 262604 for more details). The install page has instructions that have been used successfully to install SpellBound on Linux operating systems numerous times... the only exceptions being when the permissions for Firefox were not configured correctly in the first place and the best place to ask for help to resolve these types of issues is the MozillaZine Forums. - Sometimes the dictionaries don't install from http://dictionaries.mozdev.org/. I recommend installing from their Installation page or the Mozilla Foundation's Dictionaries for Mozilla Thunderbird page if this occurs. I no longer directly link to the dictionaries themselves so there should no longer be any confusion as to whether this is a bug with SpellBound or not.
Versions: All Status: Outside of my control - Sometimes auto update didn't work for some users. I had changed the minVersion and maxVersion to 1.0 as of version 0.6 and I believe this may be due to modifying app.extensions.version to 0.9 so at least until 1.1 is released the SpellBound update rdf will be set to 0.9 for the minVersion. I don't use the pre 1.0 syntax for the update rdf so this should not cause problems with earlier clients.
Versions: 0.6.0 Status: Fixed as of 0.7.3 - One report of SpellBound not working on Mac OS X 10.3.6 and then not being able to type in the Google search box. SpellBound works fine on my Mac OS X 10.3.6 system and I have received no other reports of this so this is probably due to a problem with the Firefox profile, Firefox installation, or a conflict with another extension. The steps stated above need to also be done to narrow down the issue.
Versions: 0.7.1 Status: Reporter disappeared... more details are needed - A single report of SpellBound and specifically the myspell libraries having memory issues when using a memory manager.
Versions: 0.6.0 Status: Only one report and I'm unable to reproduce. - A single report of SpellBound causing a fault when typing a long message in the editor.
Versions: 0.3.3+ Status: No longer able to reproduce. - A single report of a conflict between SpellBound and the Reload Every extension which causes the context menu to appear during a reload.
Versions: 0.6.0 Status: Only one report and I'm unable to reproduce. - Fixed a regression which prevented other extensions from being able to pass an editor element for spell checking.
Versions: 0.7.0 Status: Fixed as of 0.7.3 - Under certain conditions SpellBound was unable to detect whether an editor element existed due to there not being a defaultView.frameElement in the DOM. The 0.7.3 release has a workaround for this and the 0.8.0 release will include the final fix for this issue.
Versions: 0.7.0 Status: Fixed as of 0.7.3 - The SpellBound Toolbar button has a different toolbar image under certain circumstances.
Versions: 0.7.1 Status: Fixed as of 0.7.2 - When checking a selection of text if the first character is also the first character in the element all of the text in the element is replaced when completing the spell checked.
Versions: 0.7.0 - 0.7.1 Status: Fixed as of 0.7.2 - Download More to download additional dictionaries doesn't work. This is due to an oversight and some major code changes in the last release.
Versions: 0.7.0 - 0.7.1 Status: Fixed as of 0.7.2 - Fixed a bug when spell checking e-mail with quotes that caused a serious memory issue when rechecking the spelling.

Versions: All Status: Fixed as of 0.7.0 - Changed the checks performed by the web installer script. This resolves a couple of installation issues but it also places more responsibility on the user to select the correct components for their OS.
