You already have the latest version of SpellBound installed along with the Mozilla spell check libraries. If SpellBound is not working correctly for you please read the FAQ along with any other sections that are relevant and if you are unable to resolve the issue report it by using the Contact form. Install SpellBound for Firefox 1.0.x

3. Install a dictionary from the http://dictionaries.mozdev.org/ site's Installation page or the Mozilla Foundation's Dictionaries for Mozilla Thunderbird page if you have not already done so. Your user account will need write access to your Firefox application's components directory to install the spell check dictionaries.

SpellBound uses the same spell checking engine that is provided with Mozilla. If you selected "Browser only" or "Custom" for the "Setup Type" and deselected "Spellchecker" when you installed Mozilla then you will have to run setup again, select "Custom" for the "Setup Type", select "Spellchecker", and then install the spellchecker component. If you are using Windows or Linux you can instead install the spellcheck.xpi which is located in the windows-xpi or linux-xpi directory for your Mozilla Release. Your user account will need write access to your Mozilla application's components directory to install the Mozilla spell check libraries.

2. Optional: Install a dictionary from the http://dictionaries.mozdev.org/ site's Installation page or the Mozilla Foundation's Dictionaries for Mozilla Thunderbird page (en-US should have been installed when the spell check libraries were installed). Just like with Mozilla Mail and Composer your user account will need write access to your Mozilla application's components directory to install a dictionary.
3. Restart Mozilla and you should be all set.
   The SpellBound Extension will be the only item displayed in the Mozilla preferences panel from this installation.

In a moment a dialog should appear requesting permission to install software on your system. After clicking install you must wait for the Installation Results page which will inform you whether the installation was successful or not. DO NOT close any windows or your browser before the Installation Results are displayed.

Due to Bug ID 274271 the installation warning may not be displayed with Firefox Trunk builds prior to May 24th, 2005. If you have not added spellbound.sourceforge.net to your "Allowed Sites" list you will have to manually add it by going to "Tools" - "Options" - "Content" - "Allow web sites to install software" - "Allowed Sites" and adding spellbound.sourceforge.net to the "Allowed Sites" list as shown below. Firefox has a software installation "whitelist" feature which may cause a warning to be displayed near the top of your browser window that will look similar to this.

If this warning is displayed you will need to click the "Edit Options..." button and in the dialog that is displayed (see below) add this site to the "Allowed Sites" list for installing software by clicking "Allow". After this has been completed you can start the installation process over by refreshing your browser or re-visiting the Installation page.

If your browser displays an error message with the text "Restart to complete" either you have already performed the install and need to restart or you will need to clear your cache and perform the installation again. If you have not installed a dictionary you may do so at the http://dictionaries.mozdev.org/ site's Installation page or the Mozilla Foundation's Dictionaries for Mozilla Thunderbird page. You can also return to the Installation page by refreshing your browser.
