Recovered a Mac mini A1993 (late 2018) Intel from a friend who passed suddenly.

Trying to just factory reset the thing, and it's now locked in Internet Recovery loop. It ignores holding option, holding Cmd+R, holding Cmd+S, holding T (target disk mode), holding V (verbose mode), etc.

It keeps booting into the Spinning globe with "Choose network".

Literally the only thing it'll let me do is (after downloading?) try to "Activate using Apple ID", which, of course, I'll never be able to do, since my friend can't tell me what the Device Password is, nor his Apple ID password, since he's passed.

Anyways, I've already pulled good photos and whatnot, so I selected "ERASE MAC" which I expected would wipe the drive of data, documents, images, etc., but after it "Finishes" it just reboots into Internet Recovery mode with the spinning globe and "Choose Network".

I've even tried setting up a Live Linux bootable USB, which I know works on other PCs, but the Mac Mini seems to ignore holding Opt to select a different boot drive.
