I am building a model of The General Lee from Dukes of Hazard, and trying to shrink wrap an image with transparent background to the side of the car which works up to the point of rendering. When rendered, it appears that the shadow of the transparency is showing on the car as well as the desired image. I've tried clicking transparency in the render settings with the same result. Any ideas please? TIAenter image description here

$\begingroup$ Instead of shrinkwrapping it, mix it in the main material itself and use the alpha channel of the image as mix factor. Watch tutorials about creating complex materials and texturing. $\endgroup$ Commented Sep 3 at 22:09

I suspect that in your Shrinkwrap modifier, you might have the Offset value set to zero.

Try increasing it to a small positive value, like 0.001 (i.e., 1mm above the surface). That should fix the issue.

In my testing, I was able to reproduce the problem with a zero offset (left), which was fixed when I added a small positive offset (right):

You can also just disable shadow rays for the object that is shrink-wrapped:

Also make sure you have enough bounces in the light paths for transparent rays in the render settings:

2 should be enough for a single transparent plane, but you can set it to a higher number in case you have a few transparent objects overlapping. It really doesn't affect render times that much.
