In Ethereum StackExchange there is a user who spams two nonsense AI-generated answers per day. All the answers are low quality, and a sophisticated reader can see they are generated. You can also see the pattern in the answer times (exactly 2 answers per day).

The answers are nonsense and only confuse users with legitimate questions.

How to deal with this user? I believe StackExchange rules forbid AI-generated answers and bots.

I have been flagging the answers from this user as spam, but moderators disagree, and now my flagging privileges are disabled.

  • According to the flag pop up, "Spam promotes a product, service, or website while failing to disclose the author's affiliation." Do the posts fall under that category? Unless those answers fall under that category you should not flag them as spam. Commented Jul 12 at 12:36

No, this is not "spam" under the flag definition (promotional content). The correct flag category is the "looked at by a moderator" one. Explain why you think it's AIGC in the text box. Yes, copying AIGC without citation is considered inauthentic usage under the policy: ethereum.stackexchange.com/help/gen-ai-policy Commented Jul 14 at 16:09

Probably it was me that didn't accept 'spam', the account doesn't seem to be promoting a site nor a service. After observing it for a week it seems to be a bot. It didn't answer any of my comments. I reporte the user to Stack Overflow Community Team. Commented Jul 21 at 23:21

    They're (it's?) still going. Commented Aug 22 at 11:03

@Ismael Did they do anything about it? It looks like they're still posting a lot. Commented Sep 2 at 19:28

@GeneralGrievance They review the user, but they couldn't verify if it was a bot. They suggested to continue flagging answers and deleting them as low effort. Commented Sep 4 at 7:10
