I created a password protected branch for my DLC in Steamworks under the DLC app page / Steamworks / Builds.
How can I switch to this branch from the Steam client?
Going to my game / Properties / Betas seem to handle only the base game branches. I couldn't unlock my DLC branch from there.
My DLC is not yet released, I am testing it from Steam via the Developer Comp package.
I think I figured it out: I create a branch in the base game, and a branch with the same name in the DLC, then switch to this branch in the Steam client. This will switch both the base game and the DLC to the named branch.
I have to opt-in to the branch for the base game, and so far I only tested the case when the password for both branches (DLC and base) were the same.
Note: it seems it's not possible to only create a DLC branch and opt-in for that. You have to create a branch with the same name in the base game too and switch to that branch to switch both.
