I am working to fix this Google Search Console error on my index.php file...

Page is not indexed: Duplicate without user-selected canonical

If I have index.php as my home page.

Do I add a rel canonical to abc.com/index.php directing to abc.com/?

Do I use https://?

Is this correct?…

<link rel="canonical" href="https://abc.com/" />;

Do I need the closing slash?

Google can find the same page content, when it tries to fetch it with different URLs. You need to decide which URL you want the user to use.

Most likely, you want the following. So put it in. The trailing slash is not necessary.

<link rel="canonical" href="https://abc.com/">
