I searched and searched but could not find a tutorial on how to accomplish text effect as shown in attached image. I am taking my first baby steps in Blender but feel comfortable following a tutorial. I already got the numbers set up as I want. All I need is to set up the lighting similar to image. Any pointers guidance on how I can set up my lighting would be very much appreciated. enter image description here

Create some long area lights that you put in front of the numbers:

Set the Metallic of the numbers up to 1, decrease the Roughness, choose a yellow color:

For the World choose a studio HDRI, mix it with a black Background with a Light Path (Is Camera Ray output) as factor:

Result:

The reference looks pretty simple. But to do this in Blender is kind of faking vector artwork/illustration...(But using Adobe Illustrator won't be as fun, right?).. and gold is tricky to light.

About the vector artwork approach letters have a layer order that helps us understand the logic: 2 is farthest away and 5 is closest.

To address the problem of lighting the gold- since you have a really dark scene, the gold is going to look like chocolate or copper if it is not properly lit.

a. It helps if the gold material has a little Fresnel/Emission shader to light up the edges.

b.Clearly visible is a high-intensity small Point Light on the top right of the composition hitting the "O".

c.Working in Eevee you can use a Light Probe to get some reflections on the letters. Ray Tracing and Global Illumination can be checked in the render settings.

d. In the Render Settings, Color Management can help tweak the colour correction- Note that you can set the exposure in a real-time view.
